Choosing a school for your child is a very important decision. We believe the best way to understand our school is to come and visit us.

We warmly welcome visits from parents and carers. A visit will allow you to see our school during the day, watch children learning and playing, look around our building and facilities, and ask any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you.

Starting School at Tyntesfield

We know that starting a new school is a big step for children and families. At Tyntesfield, we place great importance on transition and work carefully to help every child feel safe, confident and happy. We truly value working in close partnership with parents and carers, as getting to know each other helps us support your child in the best possible way. By working together from the very start, we ensure that every child and family has a positive and successful beginning to their journey at Tyntesfield.

Once your child has been offered a place, you will be invited to a welcome and information meeting for new Nursery and Reception parents.

At this meeting you will:

  • Meet your child’s class teacher

  • Take a tour of the school

  • Learn about daily school life

  • Complete important forms for school records

Following this meeting you and your child will have further opportunities before and after the Summer holidays to visit our EYFS area and we will also provide you with transition videos and an image booklet for you to share with your child so that they can take their time in meeting our staff and getting to know their new school setting over the holidays.

Nursery Admissions

Nursery Admissions are carried out by our school office manager and not Trafford and children can apply for a Nursery place from the academic year in which they turn 4 years old (from age 3).

Waiting Lists

Trafford Local Authority manages our waiting lists for all year groups.

If a place becomes available, the waiting list is re‑ordered in line with the published admissions criteria.

In‑Year Transfers (Changing Schools During the Year)

Our PAN for each year group is 60 (two classes of 30 children).

All in‑year transfer applications must be made through Trafford Local Authority.

Once a place is offered, we will contact you to:

  • Arrange your transition meeting and school visit where possible.

  • Arrange your child’s start date

  • Organise an opportunity to meet your child’s new teacher

  • Explain school routines and complete paperwork
