Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do. At Tyntesfield Primary School, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is our highest priority.

  • What to do if you are worried about a child

    If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child, please speak to a member of the safeguarding team as soon as possible. In their absence, the DDSL should be contacted.

  • How We Keep Children Safe

    We have clear and robust safeguarding systems and procedures in place, including:

    • A comprehensive Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

    • Safer recruitment procedures for all staff and volunteers

    • Regular, up-to-date safeguarding training for all staff

    • Clear systems for reporting and recording concerns

    • Strong multi-agency working with safeguarding partners

    • A secure site, risk assessments, and effective health and safety procedures

    • Online safety measures, including filtering, monitoring and pupil education

    These arrangements ensure that staff, leaders and governors have a clear framework to safeguard children effectively, while also helping parents understand how we keep children safe.

  • Governance and Oversight

    Safeguarding is closely monitored and supported through school and Trust governance:

    • Safeguarding Governor: Mrs Helen Johnson

    • Safeguarding Trustee: Mrs Karen Eccles

    They work alongside school leaders to ensure safeguarding remains a priority and that practice is robust, consistent and effective.

  • Staff Training and Responsibilities

    All members of staff receive regular safeguarding and child protection training. Staff understand their responsibility to:

    • Recognise signs of concern

    • Respond appropriately

    • Record and report concerns promptly

  • What Should I Do If I Have a Concern?

    If you are worried about a child:

    • Speak to a member of our safeguarding team immediately

    • Contact the school office and ask for the DSL

    • Contact the school via our confidential email – safeguarding@tyntesfield.trafford.sch.uk

    • In an emergency, contact the police on 999
